Am I your indigenous woman?

Stage 4, Skellefteå

Stolen, invisible, annihilated, altered and blamed. We are Sweden's indigenous people, I am Sweden's, yes, your indigenous woman. Sweden owns me, no matter how free I claim to be.

Where does an identity go when it is not allowed to exist?

In my reflection on the common fate of hundreds of thousands of people, I have seen and put into words the consequences that colonialism can cause.

Ina Omma is a South Sami artisan and activist active in Skellefteå. She has many followers on Instagram, where she educates and highlights issues around, among other things, Sami identity. Like MAN's motto, she works with the question "Who can be human on whose terms?"
