Pictures tell - from Skellefteå Museum's photo collections

Nordanå, Hörsalen, Skellefteå

Nothing is the same, nothing is as before and that has probably always been said.

Roland Johansson works every day with Skellefteå Museum's photo collection, which today contains about 4.5 million images and negatives. Many photos pass through his hands every day and if a picture says more than a thousand words, there are over four and a half billion stories about how city and country have changed since the middle of the 19th century until today. The museum also has several of the city's portrait photographers' archives from Franke to Newens - today's lectures can only open the door to our local history.
