Roman costumes, Roman history

Nordanå, Skellefteå

Display of Roma costumes with history in the exhibition on the ground floor of Nordanå.

Today's costumes have their origins in an older tradition and in the Nordic folk clothing fashion that prevailed during the time when they were banished to the eastern part of the country, Finland. Roman costumes follow their own fashion. Today you buy fabrics from Dubai or Turkey. The skirt has 27 meters of fabric and weighs 7-10 kilos. It is very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter.
