En man som heter Ove

Stage 1, Sara kulturhus, Skellefteå

Johan Rheborg returns with the successful performance "En man som heter" - Sweden tour in the autumn of 2022!

Johan Rheborg's one-man performance “En man som heter Ove” directed by Emma Bucht became an audience success when it was played between 2015–2018. This year it is 10 years since Fredrik Backman's book “En man som heter Ove” was published and now it is clear that the show will be staged again in the autumn of 2022.

Johan Rheborg is one of the country's most popular actors and comedians and has for over 20 years created accurate depictions of odd characters. In the performance based on Fredrik Backman's book “En man som heter Ove” Johan Rheborg plays the grumpy Saab advocate Ove. At first glance, he seems to be a bitter and grumpy old man, but the appearance deceives and when the newly moved neighbors happen to back on his mailbox, a series of events begins that have major consequences for both Ove and his neighbors in the neighborhood.

I like playing Ove because he touches. He is a very Swedish man that many recognize and that the audience seems to like. It is also an incredibly strong love story, which is exactly what we need now, says Johan and continues:
"It's great fun to play such a great story. I'm incredibly proud to play my favorite monologue once again."

Both the audience and the critics absolutely loved Johan Rheborg's live version of "En man som heter Ove" when it was played between 2015-2018. The performance was praised in the media and received, among other things, 5 out of 5 in Aftonbladet. Johan Rheborg's contribution was described as “completely magnificent” (Aftonbladet), “absolutely perfect” (Expressen) and “as cut and dried” (DN).

In the stage version of Fredrik Backman's book, Johan Rheborg plays the main role Ove and all other roles. Emma Bucht ("Bullets over Broadway", "Sissela Kyle Etta on the list", "Rain man") has directed and Marie Persson Hedenius has written the script which is then edited by Emma Bucht and Johan Rheborg.
