Stage 2, Sara kulturhus, Skellefteå

Perhaps the party is the last refuge where we can embody our longing beyond language and thought. A longing away from the structure, symmetry and measurability that modern life demands of us. Festen is a tribute to man and the sensual. To dance and to experience through the body all the inherent possibilities of man, jointly as well as individually. Everyone who participates in Festen is also involved and creates it.

Our resident DJ Cheza takes us on a journey through the world of house music and we are guided by our master of ceremonies Yared. Dancers Joanna, Johanna and Viktor move through Festen  with us.

About Viktor Fröjd
Viktor Fröjd, dance artist, is based in Malmö, Skåne and works in both the large and intimate format in his works. He gathers partners, on and behind the scenes, for collective processes that often lead to interactive experiences for the audience. The dramaturgy in the works is often built around the power of improvisation and the understanding of the social. Here, everyone in the room (practitioners and spectators) joins in and creates the experience. The starting point will be the dance's potential to open up for each person's own experience through desire and fellowship. Key words in the work are honesty, beginning, time and (not time).

Viktor Fröjd is educated at the street dance education at Åsa folk high school outside Katrineholm and has a bachelor's degree in dance pedagogy with a focus on street from DOCH - Dance and Circus University in Stockholm.
