Performance with Marianne Folkedotter and Rickard N Jokela.

The wild look
twists out
the tameness

- The collection of poems A forest that goes around among the houses I dedicate to Mother Earth. It reflects my experience of being part of nature's unique cycle where birth, life, death and regeneration replace each other. It is also about imbalances, loss and concern for what happens when nature is no longer protected and the future is threatened.

In the stage performance based on the collection of poems, Marianne Folkedotter together with the bassist and improvisational musician Rickard N Jokela examines what happens when poetry takes oral form and is woven together with a finely tuned musical soundscape.

Marianne Folkedotter, in her profession as storytelling antiquarian at Västerbotten's museum, has for many years and in various ways focused on oral storytelling. Asstage narrator, she has created and performed several narrative performances. The collection of poems A forest that goes around among the houses is her debut book.

Rickard N Jokela is primarily active in improvisational music. Both as a solo bassist and freelance musician, he draws various influences from Indian art music and jazz, but also hard rock and hip-hop. In a constant search for new sounds, he uses colorful effects pedals for which he has barely read the user manual.
