The Camellia Lady

Courage to live. And to love.

"The Camellia Lady" is a moving drama about following your heart. In Sunil Munshi's production, we meet two men from completely different worlds who fall madly in love. Jakob Eklund and Jackob Ericksson portray the men who make us realize that life is too short not to be lived to the fullest.

In a contemporary version of the classic The Camellia Lady , soccer dad Andreas meets drag queen Marcus. They fall violently in love and Andreas decides to follow his heart and wants to leave his wife and children. Andrea's wife tries to be big-hearted and not judge. But it is difficult, she thinks about the consequences. What none of them know is that Marcus has cancer and that his days are numbered

The Camellia Lady , loosely based on Alexandre Dumas the Younger's novel dramatized by Sunil Munshi, is a beautiful andcharged performance with warm humor and moving encounters. A reminder that life is too short not to dare to follow your dreams and live passionately. Through drama we gain courage. Courage to live. Full out. As the complex beings we are.

The director Sunil Munshi, most recently at the Riksteatern med Mammorna , has been noticed over the years for his highly visual, avant-garde and not least humorous productions that have achieved great success on the theater stage.

Andreas is played by Jakob Eklund, known from, among other things, Dramaten, the film Änglagård and the Johan Falk series. In the role of Marcus, we see Jacob Ericksson, known as Christer Malm in the film adaptations of Stieg Larsson's Millennium series and the television series Fröken Friman's war . We know Evamaria Björk from the acclaimed performances A year of magical thinking , A veryspecial day and Joan of Arc .
