Lecture - Ruth's Closet

Trappscenen, Sara kulturhus, Skellefteå

Ruth was the mayoress of the small town Mjölby. She was extremely interested in fashion, had her work done by seamstresses, and sewed herself, and she saved everything.

Now daughter Ingela Bendt has written the book "Ruth's wardrobe - a fashion story". There we get to follow Ruth through six decades, 1930-1970, and how she ages with her wardrobe.
Ingela visits us and tells Ruth's story through the film from the catwalk where the clothes are shown, pictures, and clothing slips from each decade.

In addition to fashion history, it is also a piece of women's history – about the housewife, the housewife in the countryside, the female facade, the mother-daughter relationship, and the female body.
