Dance for Parkinson's & Friends
Skellefteå
Dance for Parkinson's and friends! A physical activity for mind, brain and body.
Why dance?
- Dancing stimulates the whole body to be active. In addition, dancing strengthens and stretches the different parts of the body.
- Dancing improves balance, reduces muscle stiffness and prevents
fall risk.
- Dance focuses on performing movements in different directions and works coordination at the same time.
- Dance encourages the joy of movement and imagination.
- Dancing in a group can provide an experience of social community and well-being.
Do you want to join?
All movements are adapted to you who have Parkinson's disease or
other neurological diseases, but are also suitable for those who want a quiet dance session. Our dance teacher Valeria Möller is trained in Dance for Parkinson's via Dance for PD and will guide you through the dance class. The focus is on well-being, community and experience where everyone dances based on their own conditions.
How?
We start with a seated warm-up. Then we do exercises standing
next to the chair and choreographed dancing, moving across the floor and improvising. As a conclusion, we unwind in body and soul.
