Skellefteå Konsthall hosts Sara Kulturhus with a new exhibition The Borken Greenhouse by the artist duo Bigert & Bergström
Central to the exhibition The Broken Greenhouse is the problematization of the greenhouse as an Arcadian place and our human quest to control and tame nature by creating space for cultivation, vegetation, and life. For the exhibition, the artists have chosen to show new and older works that in different ways allude to the idea that man created for humanity a perfect climate that is now cracked.
For almost thirty years, Mats Bigert and Lars Bergström have worked as a duo whose artistry is centrally anchored in natural scientific and historical theories, often with clear references to issues concerning society and the climate changes that are occurring.
In the borderland between man, nature and technology, they create large-scale installations, sculptures, photographs, films, performance,s and geoengineering projects that give the viewer a visual experience but also invite active participation.
