Deceived in a double sense, both in love and money. And for the person affected, it is associated with great guilt and shame. Konsument Skellefteå invites you to a free lecture where you can listen to the police, the crime victim helpline, and Ingrid Brindelöv-Wiklund, the victim of a fraudster.

This is important to talk about. The one who has been deceived should not feel guilt and shame. The fraudsters are incredibly skilled and know exactly how to go about it to get someone on the hook. Romance scams affect both women and men of all age groups and the number of dark ages is large.

About the lecturers:

Ingrid Brindelöv-Wiklund was exposed to a romance fraud that almost took her life, she was in the clutches of the fraudster for 10 months. Ingrid tells her story and how she got out. With her story, she wants to provide knowledge about how to protect yourself from being scammed, information about what help is available if you are affected, and be a support to those affected. Ingrid has been a support person since 2019 for people who have fallen victim to romance scams.

A representative from the Police informs about how the situation is locally and nationally when it comes to romance fraud. You will also find out how a report is made.

A representative from the Crime Victims' Center tells you what support they offer. Crime Victims' Help Desk is a non-profit, politically independent organization that stands up for victims of crime. Many people who are victims of crime need to get in touch with fellow human being to talk about what happened and get support and help during the legal process. The association has trained supporters and has supported several victims of romance scams.
