Marie Strand, born -64 and since 10 years ago lives in a small house outside Stockholm in the middle of the quiet nature near the sea. After training at Edelvik Folkhögskola in Burträsk 1993-1995 and Nyckelviksskolan in Sthlm 1997/1998, she has been a full-time artist for a couple of years now.
Marie Strand is guided by her emotions and through her work, she processes the present.
Most of her paintings (acrylic and oil) have 3-4 motifs on top of each other where something from each layer remains in the finished painting. It can be a span of 30 years from the first layer to the last. So she finished the paintings she did at school this year. She is interested in showing her pictures and listening to the viewer's thoughts and musings.
