Ronnie Gardiner and Carin Lundin

Sara kulturhus, Skellefteå

After five albums, praised by the critics, Carin Lundin has a large repertoire containing
lovely turn and jazz feel in fine arr. A blissful mess of jazz songs, mostly from Great American
Songbook but also some own works.

Ronnie has been awarded the Swedish Jazz honorary prize! The justification reads: “A brilliant
musician, inspiring orchestra leader and significant jazz ambassador is awarded the award
Lifetime Achievement 2022. His musical work has not only had great significance for
jazz in Sweden but also made an impression on medical science when he showed that rhythm and music
has a great impact on our body and soul. He has developed a method, Ronnie Gardiner
Method, where rhythm and coordination help those affected by, for example, stroke, MS and
Parkinson's to get back to a tolerable life with new positive living conditions.
After playing with greats like ZootSims, Clark Terry, Benny Carter, Dizzy Gillespie,
Gerry Mulligan and Dexter Gordon can Ronald "Ronnie" Edwin Gardiner look back on one
long Lifetime Achievement – 90 jazzy years.”

KLAS TORESSON, tenor saxophone
Klas Toresson has recently released his third own album, critically acclaimed "Fundamentals". Class
playing is characterized by a nice tone, great swing and a lot of warmth, and he has played with them
most of Sweden's jazz elite.

Mathias Algotsson has been active since the mid-nineties and played around the world with
well-known names such as Barbara Hendricks, Magnus Lindgren and Rigmor Gustafsson.
Mathias has an ability to move between different styles and is also an appreciated
composer. He has so far made six albums under his own name, i.a. two trio albums in Japanese
record label and two with his own quartet and has, as the only non-saxophonist ever, been awarded
ArneDomneru's jazz award "Dompan's Golden Knife".

HASSE LARSSON, double bass
Hasse has played together with Peps Persson, Jesse Lindgren and the Dixie boys, Claes
Jansson et al. He also appears on Monica Zetterlund's record "Careful" and has been awarded
Nalen's Vänner scholarship "Topsy's Thousand Krona".
