Gad/Jansson Group

DFC-Din Fest at Campus, Skellefteå

Henrik Gad, lives in Vänersborg where he works as a teacher and freelance jazz musician.

He grew up in Härnösand where he started playing the saxophone at the age of 8. He started as a 14-year-old in the High Coast Jazz Orchestra. Henrik has several jazz groups of his own and has been an active jazz musician for over 20 years. During that time, he has had time to play with most of Sweden's jazz elite.

This fall, Henrik is taking a star-studded band out on tour to pay tribute to one of the great saxophone legends of all time, Dexter Gordon, who would have turned 100 this year! What's extra fun is that he brings one of Sweden's foremost jazz trumpeters, founder and leader of the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, Fredrik Norén!

Expect an afternoon filled with glowing hard bop swing where the band pays tribute to and interprets Dexter Gordon.”

Henrik Gad – saxophones, Fredrik Norén – trumpet and flugelhorn, Simon Westman – piano, Olli Rantala – bass, Michael Edlund– drums
