SkeLitt: Hjortronmyren - historical novel by Ulrika Lagerlöf

Stage 4, Sara kulturhus, Skellefteå

The author, Ulrika Lagerlöf, visits SkeLitt, the city library's own literature festival, to talk about "Hjortronmyren" which is the first part in the series "Timmerfolk", a novel suite where the women are at the center of the story about the magnificent Swedish forest and the conflicts that surround it.

"Hjortronmyren" is inspired by Ulrika Lagerlöf's own family history. Her mother grew up in Bastuträsk in Västerbotten, and in the early 1940s her grandmother worked as a cook in a logger's cabin.

Ulrika Lagerlöf works with communications within the forestry industry. She lives in Uppsala and debuted in 2021 with "Stanna hos mig".
