Trappscenen, Sara kulturhus, Skellefteå

Linnea Axelsson talks about her poetry collection Sjaunja.

Three fading Sami goddesses, a family, a singing sea shell, are some of the characters gathered in Linnea Axelsson's new poetry collection. Sjaunja is both a very natural area dominated by marshland and a Sami surname.

Linnea Axelsson was born in 1980 in Porjus, Norrbotten but now lives in Stockholm. She has studied humanities at Umeå University. In 2009, she debuted with the novel Tvillingsmycket, and in 2018 the acclaimed epic Ædnan was published, which was awarded the August prize in 2018.
