Till minnet av Lajka is about Ellen who works in home care and about the people she meets there. The fate that both affects and touches. On another level, it is a reflection on man's place on earth and in history, the feeling that we have gone off course and are adrift. But most of all it is about the relationship between humans and animals and how we see ourselves.
Till minnet av Lajka is Jannike Lundgren's second book. The debut Nu ser man hästen på Sonfjället came out in 2016 and both books have in common that they take place in Norrland environments and deal with issues such as life and death, nature and culture and - perhaps primarily - man's relationship to animals.
Jannike Lundgren is a trained librarian and literary scholar and now works as an assistant editor alongside writing. She has long been involved in animal rights issues.
