Elin Andersson was born with an incurable eye disease that gradually takes away her vision. As a child, she had about 30% visual acuity; today, it’s approximately 6%. In short, her condition causes her vision to deteriorate year after year, and currently, it cannot be corrected, slowed, or treated in any way.

In her lecture, Elin shares how she has chosen to defy her illness and disability. Despite her fears, she has decided to live life to the fullest, in the ways she can. By focusing on moving forward, she has challenged herself, learned, and achieved far more than she ever thought possible. She talks about how, with her mindset and a strong dose of determination, she has overcome both small and large challenges throughout her life, adapting to the constant change she faces.

Elin Andersson lives in Skellefteå, is a trained high school and secondary school teacher in German and English, and has worked as a teacher for 16 years. She is also an ICF-certified coach with several qualifications in group training and many years of experience as an instructor. Today, she runs her own company, Blindspot Development, working as a speaker and coach.

Come and listen to a story that provides perspective and inspiration to face your own fears and obstacles. It’s a reminder to be strong and courageous, to never give up, and to keep trying again and again to achieve your goals and dreams.

“Sometimes people ask me how I manage, and the simple answer is: because I want to.”
