The Storytelling Festival Friday program at the Skellefteå Museum is dedicated to children.
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | The Story of the Brave Ship Antoinette
Join an exciting adventure across the seven seas with the three-masted ship Antoinette, built in the Skellefteå area almost 150 years ago.
Storyteller: Saga Eserstam
Location: Storsia, but we will meet at the reception of Skellefteå Museum.
Age: 6–10 years, accompanying adults are also welcome.

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM | Photography Workshop for Children
Bring old black-and-white photos to life!
Inspired by the photo exhibition "Krister and Edla," we will paint and color printouts from the past. Can you imagine what life was like for the children in the photos? What games did they play, and what pets did they have? Come and join a creative and imaginative afternoon with the museum’s educators Clara and Sandra!
Location: The Little Museum, on the second floor of Skellefteå Museum
Age: Children of all ages and their adults.
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM | The Children’s Detective Agency
In the department of unknown persons, there are some tricky cases to solve among hidden and forgotten archival documents. We’ll need quite a few detectives to sort out the cases that have piled up. It’s a real mess! At the same time, important papers need to be stamped, and secret documents need to be written.
Welcome to a workshop set in a fictional detective agency with a blend of history, play, and learning, featuring office play – a bit like a real office from the past. Archive coats, white gloves, and magnifying glasses are available to borrow for both children and adults during the visit, or for a fun selfie!
Facilitator: Katarina Hurtig, archive educator in the project “Together We Tell the Story.” The Folkrörelse Archive in Västerbotten.
Drop-in, free for all ages.
If the child cannot read, an adult or friend may need to help with certain parts.
