Birds (Come back to bones)
BOLIDEN, Skellefteå
Do you have someone who comes and goes in your life? At some point in life, we must spread our wings and dare to move away from what we already know. But how far can we fly before we lose connection with ourselves and our roots?
In an intimate duet, two dancers explore what independence and dependence can mean. It becomes an emotional portrayal of flying free and building a nest. About farewell and homecoming. In Birds (Come Back to Bones), the dancers delve into the traditional dance and contemporary circus forms of Pas de deux (dance for two) and partner acrobatics, a circus discipline performed without equipment, emphasizing strength and balance. The traditionally gendered movements are challenged in an intuitive choreography. Sitting on chairs around the dance floor, we experience the dance up close, while the performance offers a bird’s-eye view of connection, friendship, and the need to return home.
