This is how the orchestra writes itself: Lejonmyren was formed in 2023 for the celebration of Sara Lidman's 100th birthday. Then we had the chance to play music by the South African pianist Abdullahs Ibrahim. We hope more people will discover his swinging, beautiful and joyful music!
We are inspired by strong melodies and rhythms and also offer songs by, for example, Charlie Haden, Avishai Cohen and Carl-Axel Dominique. The musicians in Lejonmyren all have their roots in Skellefteå and the surrounding area, and have a wide musical experience from both jazz and rock as well as classical music.
