Artist talk between Leif Engström and Marie Lundström

On the occasion of the artist Leif Engström's exhibition, Natten vilar mot balkongdörren, (The night rests against the balcony door), Skellefteå Konsthall arranges an artist talk with Leif Engström led by the writer and journalist Marie Lundström.

Natten vilar mot balkongdörren by Leif Engström is produced by Skellefteå Konsthall and shows a number of works made between the years 2020-2024. Different types of everyday architectural landscapes with elements of nature that are also loaded with symbolism and moods appear as a common thread in the exhibition. 

Leif Engström born in 1992 in Brunskog, Sweden and has an MFA (2020) from the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm. Engström is active in Stockholm and has exhibited in selections at Liljevalchs, Bonniers Konsthall, Stockholm, Arvika Konsthall and Rackstadmuseet, Arvika. In 2023, Engström was awarded the Artists' Board's two-year work grant as well as the Edstrand foundation's prize.

Marie Lundström was born in 1967 in Gällivare and grew up in Piteå and Umeå. She is employed by Sveriges Radio and leads Lundström's Book Radio in P1, the Nordic region's largest literature program.

She is the author of two acclaimed novels: Sanningens kalas (2020) and Alla muss söderut (2023). Her next novel is in the works.
