"So I've moved home - and I hope this has been the last move of my life."
Since her 90th birthday in 2013, the Sara Lidman Society has celebrated Sara's birthday every year together with the City Library. This year's theme is Homecoming. Fifty years ago, in 1975, Sara moved home to Lidmangården in Missenträsk to write The Book about Grandfather's and the Village's History.
Two well-known local associations are participating in this year's program:
Skelleftebygden's Storytelling Association presents "Fragment, shards of life - in words, images and music”.
Jörnsrevyn offers "Halvåtta i Missenträsk".
Villagers around the Skellefteå region used to complain that “Sara, she can never talk about her hometown without first taking a turn to Vietnam”. In the Sara Lidman Society we do the same. It is her birthday. Our program item is before the Skwallerkoppen and the Lev cake, where today's presenter Tomas Marklund and Marianne Karlsson tell, among other things, "The Lord of the Rings" and read a Vietnam speech that Swedish Radio recorded but never broadcast.
