Rundlogarnas rike is a documentary film by Robert Tedestedt and Janne Wännström portraying life in the village of Renbergsvattnet over the course of one year.

The film draws inspiration from Sara Lidman’s novel Tjärdalen: “As long as you live in a village, you have to care.” According to Robert Tedestedt, this way of thinking reflects his home village of Renbergsvattnet well.

The film is a visual story of a village where history often feels present. The title refers to the round barns from the 19th century that still remain in the village, buildings that were once essential for survival and which today hold objects, memories and stories.

Rundlogarnas rike is also a personal collage in which Robert Tedestedt tells the story of his own village through words and images. Janne Wännström has composed the original music for the film’s different chapters. The narrative language is the local dialect bondska, and the film carries a rural perspective on life.

Since its premiere in Burträsk in January, the documentary has been seen by more than one thousand cinema-goers.

The screening is free of charge, but registration is required! The film is in Swedish and uses the local dialect bondska.
