Are you curious about the art of storytelling?

Storytelling is humanity’s oldest art form. It began around the campfire and is something we share with people all over the world.

In autumn 2026, storytelling cafés will be held at Nordanå Café, where anyone aged 60 or over will have the chance to meet new people, listen to and share stories with others around the coffee table. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming; we aim to create a safe and supportive environment for everyone taking part.

Each session is carefully planned; we offer various ways to draw out participants’ stories, such as through storytelling cards, black-and-white photographs and objects, and there will be storytelling hosts on hand with extensive experience of running storytelling cafés.

Today’s theme: ‘Against the Grain’ – which is this year’s theme for the Storytelling Festival. What does it mean to you? The storytelling cafés are a collaboration between the Skelleftebygden Storytelling Association, Seniortorg Skellefteå and Cmej. Time: 14.30–16.00.

Storytelling cafés will also be held on 14 September and 28 September.
