The Västerbotten Theatre is the county theatre in Västerbotten based in Skellefteå. Theatre for both children and adults is performed, with stories that often have connections to the region.
Every year, several new productions are staged and hundreds of performances are held in Skellefteå and on tour around the region. The repertoire often builds on Västerbotten's storytelling tradition.
The theatre also houses the Nordic Storytelling Centre, which works with oral storytelling, as well as UngHästen, which uses theatre in schools.
