Sing for Me, ARJA! Said Mikis – An Evening with Arja Saijonmaa

Arja Saijonmaa invites you to an extraordinary night that begins on the big screen and ends live on stage. An evening dedicated to peace, freedom and democracy.

The documentary “Sing for Me Arja!” (directed by Marko Talli) paints an intimate portrait of her life and her lifelong friendship with Mikis Theodorakis – told through private home videos and rare archival footage few have ever seen. When the 90‑minute film ends, Arja herself steps onto the stage together with a newly formed orchestra: Greece’s two leading bouzouki virtuosos and top Nordic musicians from Finland and Sweden. In a one‑hour live concert, she weaves together more than 50 years of music into a tribute to freedom, democracy, and the belief that a song truly can change the world.

“Come along, sing with me – because a song has changed the world once before. And dictatorships do fall. I know, because I’ve been there, several times. A song can change the world even today,” says Arja Saijonmaa.

The performance will be given at three exclusive venues: – Oscarsteatern in Stockholm on 23 November – Sara Kulturhus in Skellefteå on 24 November – Draken Live in Gothenburg on 26 November

The production is presented by Krall Entertainment, Mantaray Film and Yellow Film & TV, in collaboration with Doctors Without Borders, to whom 10% of every ticket sale is donated in full.
