Skellefteå Art Hall is responsible for the art activities of Skellefteå municipality, which consists of four main parts: exhibitions and programs, the municipality's art collection, artistic design according to the one percent rule, and the Meijer collection.
The goal of Skellefteå Art Hall's activities is to contribute to society by increasing knowledge of contemporary art and supporting artistic work. The art hall is a meeting place where the diversity of contemporary art is made visible and discussed. The ambition is to spark interest and increase understanding of art as well as to promote everyone's opportunity for artistic experiences and inspire individual creativity.
Exhibitions and design assignments are the primary focus, but there is also space for production, publications, and research. Skellefteå Art Hall follows government recommendations for artists' compensation.
