Bach Jazz transforms works by J. S. Bach into cohesive songs for piano, double bass, and drums. Their debut album became widely loved, and their concerts have been praised for combining timeless compositions with evocative swing and a warm human touch. At times reminiscent of the Swingle Singers’ vocal interpretations of Bach, but purely instrumental. Now the trio comes to Sara kulturhus with a newly released album in their repertoire.

Bach Jazz’s debut album in autumn 2024 marked the beginning of an unexpected journey. The trio’s organic and playful interpretations of Johann Sebastian Bach’s eternal music continue to captivate and attract new listeners.

Bach Jazz has appeared on Swedish television shows such as Go’kväll and Kulturfrågan Kontrapunkt, and their concerts at cultural centres, jazz clubs, churches, and concert halls across Sweden, from Piteå to Malmö, have been met with enthusiastic acclaim. Many have drawn comparisons to the iconic Jan Johansson.

In spring 2026, Bach Jazz released their second album, taking the music even further. The expression remains open and warm, reflective and exploratory, while embracing even more aspects of Bach’s boundless universe. The repertoire ranges from beloved masterpieces to curious explorations, from the Goldberg Variations to a tender lullaby, and even what may be the very first historical example of “agent jazz”.

Welcome to a melodic, intimate, and swinging concert. A moment of connection, focused presence, and spontaneous inspiration.
