Book Release - The Dream of PARADISE

The dream of PARADISE, the search for a green, alternative lifestyle, is Rune Wästerby’s debut book.

The story connects alternative lifestyles today and throughout history with highly relevant topics such as sustainability, community, civilization critique, and humanity's relationship with nature. The theme of the book is that today’s green alternatives are not modern phenomena, but expressions of an old tradition of ideas with roots in both the life reform movement and Romanticism, and even in our oldest historical narratives.

Rune Wästerby was born in a village outside Umeå in the 1950s. He trained there as an engineer and worked at an architecture firm.
He then changed direction from building new structures to preserving the old by furthering his education as a building conservator.
Rune now lives in a village outside Skellefteå, where he has been active at the Skellefteå Museum during the later part of his professional life.
