Brahms: A German Requiem - Burträsk

The Skellefteå Chamber Choir presents one of the most beloved works in the choral repertoire.

Brahms did not write a requiem for the dead but a requiem for those of us who remain. With words from the Bible, the music moves from sorrow and longing towards comfort, hope, and reconciliation. It is grand yet simultaneously intimate and personal.

We will perform the piece in the version for two pianos and timpani. With this arrangement, both the power and the serene passages in Brahms' music come to the fore.

Ola Eliasson, baritone
Christina Fridolfsson, soprano
