Brahms: A German Requiem - Skellefteå

Skellefteå Chamber Choir performs one of the most beloved works in the choral repertoire.

Brahms did not write a requiem for the dead, but a requiem for those of us who remain. With words from the Bible, the music moves from sorrow and longing towards comfort, hope, and reconciliation. It is grand and yet intimate and personal.

We will perform the piece in the version for two pianos and timpani. With this setting, both the power and the serene passages in Brahms' music come to life.
