Choreography

KOREOGRAFIN is an interactive performance that relies entirely on the audience's participation. By following instructions in headphones, it is the audience who collectively creates KOREOGRAFIN. With imaginary hamsters, confetti, and bold movements, it explores how the way we move can influence what we think and feel.
KOREOGRAFIN is available in 19 languages. Each person can choose which language they want to listen to. In other words, individuals who do not speak the same language can participate in the same performance and meet on equal terms. Since its premiere in 2016, KOREOGRAFIN has been performed over 700 times around the world. The performance was selected for Ice hot and Young Swedstage 2022 and Bibu 2018 with the following motivation:
“Here, we as an audience are given the opportunity to change roles. Instead of being observers, we become co-creators. With the choreographers as guides in our headphones, we are invited to participate using ourselves as tools, in a permissive space where we quickly understand that we cannot make mistakes, and where all our movements are right.
We discover that our morning routines actually consist of choreographies. We move together, we create shared worlds. It is a performance or an experience, but it is also a physical experience, an exploration of what movement is and what the body can convey. This is interactive performing arts that makes us happy, inspires us, and allows everyone involved to briefly be co-creators of something that feels significant in the little things.”
“What do I have to do to do this again? I’ll do anything!”
- student in grade 7
“With the initial assurance that ‘everything is right in the choreography’, a solid foundation is created that is necessary to dare to discover both the inner conflicts and the fields of tension, as well as the sparkling joy and community that arise during the half-hour of the act.”
- Sara Meidel, Västerbottenskuriren 2017
“A wonderful community-building experience across generational and language barriers. Incredibly touching.”
- Johanna Salander, artistic leader of Västerbottensteatern
