Crister Widengren porträtt

Crister Widengren's newly written book "Allt gick ut på att överleva dagen" is an autobiography about some of the many events that occurred during his upbringing.

Crister Widengren was born in Söderhamn in February 1953. In 1958, the family moved to Huddinge outside Stockholm. His father was in prison on two occasions, once in Söderhamn and also while the family lived in Huddinge.

The upbringing was problematic for the family. Father Lars learned some years after moving from Söderhamn that he was manic-depressive. He mixed the strong pills with alcohol, which did not improve his condition. On the contrary. Attempted murder, death threats, suicide attempts, and psychological and physical abuse marked Crister's entire upbringing from the little child he was to a young adult. The surroundings could express concerns like, "how will it go for the family, how will it go for the children?"

The program is part of Psykeveckan.
