Lejonmyren

Lejonmyren formed in 2023 to take part in the celebration of Sara Lidman, as she would have turned 100 years old. We then performed several songs by the South African pianist and composer Abdullah Ibrahim (formerly known as Dollar Brand). We chose his music to represent her time in South Africa. The celebration gave us the opportunity to play Abdullahs swinging, beautiful and joyous music, which we hope more people discover! Unfortunately he died earlier this year, reaching 91 years of age. On this occasion we will pay tribute to him and his music once more. The musicians in the constellation all have roots in the Skellefteå area and are experienced and well-versed in jazz, rock and classical music.
