Journalist Caroline Valstedt Thorén meets singer, songwriter, author, and journalist Annika Norlin in a conversation about the interplay between text and music. Fanny Lundmark complements with live music in a few personal interpretations of Annika's music.
Over the years, Annika Norlin has received great attention and appreciation from both critics and audiences for her music and literary texts. In the fall of 2005, her debut album Introducing… Hello Saferide was released. Since then, she has released music both under her own name and under the artist name Säkert. Annika has received numerous awards and accolades as an artist, songwriter, and lyricist.
In 2020, she made her fiction debut with the short story collection I See Everything You Do, and in 2023, the novel The Stack was published. It was awarded the Tidningen Vi literary prize and Sveriges Radio's novel prize.
Before her music career, Norlin worked as an editor at Morgonpasset in P3 and as a journalist for Länstidningen in Östersund, Östersunds-Posten, and Aftonbladet with several assignments in radio and media.
We can thus assume that words and storytelling have been a strong driving force for Annika Norlin both in her music creation and in her purely literary artistry. How this relates to her work, and especially how the interplay between text and music functions for her, will be brought up by Per Strömbro in the conversation with Annika.
