Preparedness Day 2026

You are part of Sweden’s total defence. Come to Guldtorget and Sara Kulturhus to learn how you can contribute to preparedness for a crisis or war.

Programme:

• The fire department will display a fire truck and provide information on fire safety.
• The Home Guard will showcase a dog-handler team and a tracked vehicle.
• Volunteer defense organizations will provide information on home preparedness.
• Skellefteå Kraft will be participating throughout the day with representatives on site.
• Energy and climate advisors from Skellefteå Municipality will be on site to provide information on energy and emergency preparedness.
• Contests and trivia quizzes with prizes.

The event is free of charge.

Preparedness Day is organized by Skellefteå Municipality and is part of Preparedness Week - an information campaign that takes place in week 39 every year and is led by The Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency (MCF). This year's theme is You are part of Sweden's total defence, where the focus is on highlighting the importance of us all contributing to be able to cope with crises and possible war.
