Learning a language is about using it in meaningful contexts. This material contributes to the language revitalization of South Sámi through culture and community.
In 2023, the South Sámi hymnal was published, and the material draws from some real classics, aiming to teach us many vivid words in South Sámi.
The material consists of 6 hymns with information about the creators, glossaries, and instructional videos where the artist Saara Hermasson teaches the hymns.
You do not need to be an expert in hymns, language, or singing to take the course; instead, you will gather digitally to collaboratively delve into the self-instructive material.
The course is free of charge. You will support each other in the group, and one of you will report the course as a study circle in Bilda. Therefore, please indicate if you would be willing to take on the role of reporting coordinator in the group.
