Destination Found is based on the incredible story of how Anna Mallika Wadström, who was adopted from India, found her family through a series of coincidences. In an unexpected part of the world! A monologue about being assigned an identity that is constantly questioned. About carrying a burden of gratitude and the pressure to succeed; for who wants to be that annoying adopted child? Destination Found traverses three continents. The performance premiered at the Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, Fri Scen in October 2025.

"Of course, I don't remember anything from my time in India. But it feels like just because I don’t remember, those months shouldn’t have existed. That what isn’t in my memory… doesn’t exist. But it does. I have existed. I have breathed, screamed, slept, eaten…"

Anna Mallika Wadström has created a performance based on her personal experiences of growing up as an adopted child in Sweden, and finding herself in a larger family. A DNA test becomes life-changing, leading to an unexpected bond. Destination Found is a story about reclaiming power over one’s own history after finally being found. A newly written monologue by and with Anna Mallika Wadström, who plays all the roles in a wild, unexpected journey that ultimately leads home.
