The storytelling performance Ukssarájgiesne by and with Karin Bonta deals with a Sami heritage that has been silenced for decades.

The performance is based on a hidden and forgotten Sami family history from the Västerbotten region in the early 1900s, which has been kept quiet for decades. The title refers to a door that has been closed but now stands ajar. Old and new yoiks are mixed with improvisations, poetry, and stories. Special attention is given to some of the women in the family, the nomad school reform of 1913, and Herman Lundborg's racial biological investigations.

The purpose of the performance is to highlight this issue and the consequences it has had for families that gave up their language, culture, and eventually even came to deny their origins.
