WORKSHOP with Anton Borgström

Welcome to a session based on freestyle dance with Anton Borgström.

Anton is a freelance dancer based in Stockholm, originally from Umeå. He works across a wide spectrum of dance, both in contemporary fields and in street circles. You can see him appearing in everything from the Melodifestivalen to the Modern Dance Theatre; in one of his latest jobs, he participated in Benke Rydman’s performance *Lonely Together*, which was based on Tim Bergling’s (Avicii) music.

The workshop is free of charge, and no registration is required.

Target Audience: Young people & adults (13 years and older) with some form of dance experience or similar movement practice.
If you wish to dance in shoes, please bring indoor shoes with non-marking soles.

ANTON'S WORDS ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
What often interests me is rooted in improvisation. My dance interest began in Street, where freestyle is a significant part of the dance style and what opened up my curiosity for dance. Throughout my career, my interest in improvisation and art has grown stronger, which is why I have explored the contemporary expression.

During the workshop, we will try out ways to improvise/freestyle, exploring through movement tasks and various approaches. My ambition is for participants to gain a broad perspective on what dance can express, where the boundaries between styles can blur and create something personal.
