Sustainability Week in Skellefteå

September 15-21, 2024

Sustainability Week in Skellefteå is an annual event focused on raising awareness and engagement around sustainable development and environmental issues. Throughout the week, a variety of activities are organized with the goal of inspiring and encouraging sustainable choices and behaviors in daily life, as well as providing knowledge and tools to address future environmental challenges.

Eat locally produced food

Here you’ll find several opportunities to buy food directly from the farmer—whether from one of the many farm shops, local markets, or our Reko-Ring. When you buy locally grown food, you support our local producers, contribute to thriving businesses and a vibrant countryside. You get fresher (and tastier), more nutritious food while also reducing your environmental impact through shorter transport distances. Plus, it just feels good to know where your food comes from.

Shop locally

We’re proud of the wide range of shopping options available in Skellefteå. Add to that a warm welcome and a strong commitment to both environmental and social sustainability, and you’ll understand why we say: Welcome to shop in Skellefteå – there’s something here for everyone!
