City walk 90 minutes


A lovely walk where you get to experience and see, among other things, Nordanå which is Skellefteå's cultural center, here you will find both a museum, cozy country shop with café operations, and an inn where good meals are served. You will pass the Nordanålekparken and Exploratoriet, which are popular activities for families with smaller children. YOu will head on to Bonnstan, which is one of the municipality's 16 living church towns on to the Landskyrkan and Lejonströmsbron, which is Sweden's oldest bridge built of wood. 
In the end, you take the river walk back, and maybe you wedge into the Kyrkholmen, where you will find a café business in the summers with really good home-baked coffee at great prices.


Starting place Skellefteå Tourist Center: Here you will find brochures, buy tickets for events, local profile products, souvenirs and get inspiration for your stay.

Stadsparken: Skellefteå's city park is a green oasis in the middle of the city that invites both relaxation and activities. The park was nominated for several awards and in 2016 was awarded a silver in the European Garden Award.

Strandgatan: Continue right on Strandgatan towards Nordanå cultural area.

Skellefteå Museum /Nordanå bar and café: Today the area is a green oasis near the city center. The western part still belongs to the church, while the Nordanå area is full of historical buildings.

Nordanå Lekplats: Nordanå playground is for all ages and adapted for the disabled. The park reflects the history of Skellefteå - mines, the river, sea and forest. There are mountains to crawl in, a mini forest, jetties, and a large toy ship.

Exploratoritet: Skellefteå ScienceCenter
Here you will find exhibition environments where you experiment with technology and science. There is a total of 800 square meters of exhibition space with exhibitions and interactive experiments.

Nordanågården Värdshus: Nice inn where you can eat many good meals made from local produce.

Lanthandeln: Lanthandeln is a cosy cafe with a small shop where you can sit down for a while and feel the wings of history.

Bonnstan: One of Sweden's living church towns and has existed since the 1600s.

Landkyrkan: Here stood Skellefteå's first wooden church in the 1300s. Now, the Land Church is said to be one of the largest land churches in Sweden. The exterior of the church is almost unchanged, but the interior has changed character several times.

Lejonströmsbron: Lion stream bridge was ready in 1737and is Sweden's oldest wooden bridge still in use.

Kyrkholmens Sommar café: Kyrkholmen belongs to the Skellefteå National Assembly and is a small islet in the river, just below Församlingsgården. Here you can buy good coffee and enjoy the peace for a while.

Älvspromenaden: Nice pleasant walk along the river back to Bryggarbacken where you walk through Stadsparken back to the final destination.
