On this walk, you'll see the new riverfront area, where a steam brewery once stood. The walk also takes you through the beautiful city park, past one of Skellefteå’s most famous statues, Odenkvinnan. This walk includes a visit to Nordanå, Skellefteå’s cultural center, which hosts a museum, a charming country store with a café, and a restaurant serving delicious meals. You’ll pass Nordanå playground and Exploratoriet, popular with families, and continue to Bonnstan, a church town dating back to the 1600s. Then, head to Landskyrkan and Lejonströmsbron, Sweden’s oldest wooden bridge. Finally, take the river walk back, and perhaps stop by Kyrkoholmen, where, during summer, you’ll find a café offering delicious homemade pastries at great prices.
This longer walk is perfect if you want to see both old and new Skellefteå. You’ll pass through lush green spaces, walk along rivers, cross bridges, and stroll down cobblestone streets, seeing grand buildings like the Sara Cultural Center and feeling the historical charm of Bonnstan along the way.
