Welcome to The Gingerbread City – A Whimsical Exhibition Built Together with Our Visitors. It’s been a few years since Skellefteå Museum first presented The Gingerbread City, and since then it has become one of our most beloved and eagerly awaited traditions. The rules for the gingerbread creations have always been simple – let your imagination set the limits!
In previous years, the exhibition has featured everything from winter swimming and a hockey rink to The Burrow from Harry Potter!
What will appear in The Gingerbread City this year? One thing’s certain – it will be a visit that delights all your senses. Imagine waltzing into Skellefteå’s most wonderfully scented exhibition, accompanied by the sound of Winter Wonderland.
Christmas spirit guaranteed!
You are warmly welcome to an exhibition for all ages – young and old alike.
And don’t forget – admission to all our exhibitions is always free.
Opening event – 30 November, 11:00–14:00
Celebrate the opening of The Gingerbread City with a creative workshop for all ages!
Explore the exhibition and visit the workshop, where you can make your own festive creations using different materials and techniques.
Location: In the Creative Workshop, next to the gingerbread exhibition
For all ages (children accompanied by an adult)
You’ll find the exhibition on the second floor, where it will be on display until 11 January 2026.
