Photograph the golden eagle with Conny Lundström

Kalvträsk, Skellefteå

The golden eagle season runs from October to the end of March and the photo fields are located in the interior of Västerbotten, near the Vitberg nature reserve, with bogs, old forest, and mountains in the background. In the area there is a chance to see, among other things, golden eagles, sea eagles, ravens, sometimes dove hawks, woodpeckers, jays, small birds such as bullfinches, and tits, red foxes, etc.

Here are two comfortable photo hideouts with room for four photographers each. Each photographer has access to at least two photo windows in two different directions, for close-ups and pictures of the birds in the landscape. One is equipped with so low photo windows that you can shoot at a different angle lying on the floor. In both hiding places, there is a stove and toilet.
The photo hideouts are not equipped with mirror glass, but the eagles tolerate protruding lenses as well as gentle movements with them, according to the principle "movements as slow as the minute hand on a clock".

We only work with wild animals and birds and the chances of seeing and photographing them are good, but for understandable reasons, we leave no guarantees. This is a sparsely populated part of the country and the wild animals are not so used to humans; caution and silence are required to achieve results. According to statistics, you should have pictures of golden eagles after three days in hiding. The best chances for snow are from mid-December to the end of March.
