World Cup Winter Swimming

Welcome to the chilliest competition of the year – the Winter Swimming event taking place from February 27 to March 1, 2026.

The competition gathers both enthusiastic amateurs and the world’s elite in winter swimming and is held at Kurjoviken Marina in Skelleftehamn.

Activities
Throughout the weekend you can enjoy:

• Opening ceremony with music, dance, and competitions in ice poetry and ice hole music.
• Winter swimming races, both relays and individual events, in the ice hole.
• Spectator-friendly activities around the area.
• Afterparty with dinner on Saturday evening.

For the first time in 12 years, the championship returns to Finland – and it’s also the 20th anniversary of the International Winter Swimming Association! It’s the perfect opportunity to extend your winter swimming season, meet swimmers from all over the world, and experience another unforgettable adventure in the North.

After the Winter Swim in Skellefteå, we’re offering a shared bus trip to Oulu, where the World Championship will take place from March 2–8, 2026.
