Skellefteå City Library is organizing a short story competition ahead of the horror convention Lidman/Lovecraft. The story should incorporate one or more themes from Sara Lidman and H.P. Lovecraft's writings. Additionally, participants are encouraged to flirt unabashedly with the subgenre of body horror.

Body horror is a genre within horror literature that focuses on bodily transformations in a way that evokes discomfort in the viewer. The genre often aims to explore humanity's fear of the unknown and the alien within one's own body.

Content: The short story should include one or more themes from Sara Lidman and H.P. Lovecraft's writings. Furthermore, it should feature elements of body horror. Note: Interpretation is free!

Entries will be judged by an independent jury.

Winners will be announced during the Lidman/Lovecraft horror convention organized by the City Library on November 9-10.
