Geological walk

Bjuröklubb Nature Reserve, Skellefteå

The guide is in swedish!

Welcome to accompany ore professor and "stone doctor" Christina Wanhainen on an exciting hike in Bjuröklubb. The nature reserve is, according to Christina, one of the coolest places in northern Sweden in terms of bedrock geology. Large areas of gneissic outcrops that lie in the open are among the things that make Bjuröklubb unique. Christina works everyday as a professor in Ore Geology, Geoscience and Environmental Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering and Natural Resources, Luleå University of Technology.

We gather by the lighthouse at Bjuröklubb and hike through Bjuröklubb's nature reserve. The hike takes about 1.5-2 hours. After the hike, we gather in the coffee house by the chapel for a simple snack.

The hike is suitable for both adults and children. Remember to dress in comfortable clothes and bring good walking shoes. In case of rain, bring rain clothes.

Warm welcome!
