The Monbijou Quartet has quickly earned a reputation as one of Scandinavia’s most promising young ensembles since their formation in the autumn of 2022. Shortly after their debut performances, they won the Swedish Chamber Music Competition Ung & Lovande in 2023, which led to a nationwide tour with over 30 concerts during 2024-25.
They’ve also been finalists in the Szymanowski International Music Competition and received an award for best performance of a contemporary piece. The quartet is currently enrolled in the diploma program for string quartets at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, studying under Tim Frederiksen.
Now they’re coming to Skellefteå to perform works by Beethoven and Debussy – a refined program featuring highlights from the chamber music repertoire.
